    1. Whoa. I'm reading about northwestern Wisconsin and the next thing you know it's about Alaska and he's in Kaktovik and knows a thing or two about Alaska politics. I wondered, who is this guy? How did he manage to parallel my life in these essays? I made copies to force my students to read; not something I do often. I will meet him, I suppose. His co-worker at UWEC (English), who I know in yoga class, said I'm probably his most perfect audience. True that. Well written, captures both worlds.Okay U [...]
