    1. The story was fast paced and full of action, but the characters needed a little fleshing out. Certain motivations were hard to understand, and the underlying secrecy throughout the whole story kinda saddened me. The communication between the main characters left alot to be desired. There was higher quality dialogue between Zack and his buddy Jim, instead of Zack and his lover, Brett. This one left me wanting.

    2. Zach is a broken down rodeo star, who--after suffering a serious injury--decides to go back home. Zach is an interesting character; he has never thought of men in a sexual way but is starting to question his feelings for the owner of the Four Winds ranch. To read about this rough cowboy melting into a pile of goo whenever he’s around Brett was really sweet, yet frustrating. Brett is a gay man who, on the outside, comes off as nonchalant about what others think of him. He is a strong character; [...]

    3. Formerly in the rodeo, Zach now works as a ranch hand. He grew up on a ranch so he knows what he’s doing. He’s always been more interested in the rodeo but now he’s back on his parent’s ranch. His life has come full circle and after his parent’s death, he inherited their ranch. Brett Miller, owner of the Four Winds ranch, has the biggest ranch in town and is Zach’s closest neighbor. Brett and Zach worked out a deal where Brett would work Zach’s farm and Zach would come back anytime [...]

    4. Cowboy Needed is a nice story though the characters lack depth and some of their motivations were confusing enough that at times their actions don’t make much sense – perhaps that’s how it is when you are thrown into something most unexpected as they are. The most poignant part of the story is the discrimination the men undergo. Seeing how each man handles themselves in the face of adversity speaks more to their character than other aspects of their personality did throughout the entire bo [...]

    5. The book seemed to be in fast forward - such a shame it could have been great but just as your starting to get the know the characters it's all over - Things happen throughout the book that sadly - as your not emotionally attached to the characters dont have the same effect they would other wise have had.
