This is a book which was written for children of the 60's, 70's, and 80's--most notably those whose experience included a much maligned, yet thoroughly addictive obsession called Role Playing games. If you have never played a table-top RPG (and no, MMORPG's do not count), you will likely neither understand the references nor derive the nuanced message at the heart of this book.     2. Jay's book reminds me of a cross between Clerks and D&D. I have never have read a work where character descriptions are so vivid, you can easily imagine such a person in your own life. Maybe it's because I role play, but this was a great read.
