    1. Read this whole book today in one sitting for the 'not letting go of a book' challenge for the booktube a thonI LOVED how saucy this book was. It fitted perfectly into the story and was the cherry on top of this dark world that Aurora has been introduced into. I loved the characters i needed to love and hated others. i need to read the rest of this series!

    2. Aurora Sky (Aurora Sky: Vampire Hunter #1) by Nikki Jefford is a different kind of vampire story. Aurora is a teen that dies in a car crash and is brought back by a group (government?) that changed her blood that made her blood poison to vampires. She has to be a vampire hunter or she doesn't get the shot a month to keep her alive. Too bad the guy she meets and falls in love with is a vampire. Fun read.

    3. 4.5 "A New Bite on Life" Stars for the story and narration!Move over Buffy, there is a new teenage vampire huntress in town! Given that YA vampire romance is how I became hooked on audiobooks (yes, you know which series I'm talking about: )) and that I watched nearly every episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer way back in the day, I'm ecstatic to say that I have found a new vampire series to dig my teeth into: Aurora Sky! Book 1 in the series does a fabulous job of setting up this creative take on [...]

    4. Not my cup of tea I'm afraid. I made the mistake of thinking it was an adult book because is says 18+ but it's all set in high school and there's nothing I hate more than petty high school squabbles. Sorry to say I won't be reading book 2. So disappointing.

    5. "On the way home from school, I stared out the bus window dreamily. The world outside no longer existed. I lived in my own world and I liked it there."That's my favorite line in the book. It pretty much sums up Aurora's character, in my opinion. And as a writer, I can relate to it.So, where to beginThis is officially my new favorite YA paranormal series, and I really don’t like a lot of paranormal YA with the exception of Jennifer Armentrout’s Lux and Covenant series. I guess when I say “n [...]

    6. Aurora Sky is a normal high school senior with dreams of attending college and getting as far as she can from Alaska. She’s been accepted to Notre Dame and she has six more months to go until she is free. Then the accident happens. Aurora has a head-on collision on an icy road and she wakes up in a government facility where she learns she almost died and they used extraordinary measures to save her life. Why? Because Aurora is very special and they want her to work for them. Her blood is toxic [...]

    7. If you are a vampire/vampire hunter book lover, then I think this book would be for you. I really enjoyed the story and the writing style of Nikki Jefford. The new concept of the vampire hunter that she brought along really caught my attention. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next installment! I definitely think you should give this book a try :)As I mentioned before, I really enjoyed the new concept that Nikki Jefford had with the vampire hunters. The whole blood transfusion/v [...]

    8. This has been a book I've seen recommended a lot so I'm glad I finally found the time to begin this series. I'd thought it was aimed at a younger audience with its teenage heroine Aurora, but actually there's content here that does have more adult tones. Essentially Aurora is one of the very few that have a rare blood type and with a bit of scientific jiggling her blood can be poisonous to vampires. Now that was an angle I hadn't seen before so I was very interested to see how far this storyline [...]

    9. I had so much hope for this book, I was really excited to read it but I got 54% in and I could not read another page. I felt like the premise was really interesting with a girl who was genetically altered to be a vampire hunter but when said girl is so unlikable it made it really tough to get through.Aurora, the main girl was just all over the place. She was snotty, rude, reckless, and lacking any real charm to be able to pull off such traits. What struck me was that I could never determine the [...]

    10. **Find this and other reviews @ The Demon Librarian**I'm Hooked!High school sucks, no matter where you are, and if you're stuck in a small town in Alaska, buried in snow and constantly freezing your tush off, it's even worse. Who wouldn't want to leave, right? And no one wants to blow this popsicle stand more than Aurora Sky. She's got six months until she graduates and she is counting every second. And then it happens. The terrible car accident that forever changes her life and makes her dreams [...]

    11. I write book reviews for Appraising Pages book review site, check us all for all things bookish! There is SO MUCH I want to say about this book, trying to decided where to start is tricky… but I will start with Aurora. I think you can look at the kind of books I give high marks to and it’s pretty obvious I like characters with a good sense of humour. I loved Auroras inner voice and how strong her personality came through. She clearly has been through a rough patch, almost dying and finding ab [...]

    12. The overall story was not bad. However Aurora was a problem for me. She was stupid, childish, and annoying. I found myself annoyed or angry with her throughout the book. When I find myself feeling these things about the main character I just can't be okay with a book. The only good thing about this book was the ending.

    13. From readingandwritingurbanfantasy.3.5 starsAt A GlanceI really enjoyed the concept and dark elements of this book but the execution was a little off. The GoodWith graduation looming, eighteen year old Aurora was finally going to get to leave Alaska. But almost dying in a car crash screwed that plan all up. Now the weird government agents who saved her life are telling Aurora that she works for them. Why? Because she has unique blood that incapacitates vampires. Doomed to stay in Alaska and let [...]

    14. I loved this whole new take on Vampires, it so different, and I really liked that. I am so anxious now for book 2, lol. It’s like a YA version of Night Huntress, ok, not exactly, as its very different, but it sure was really good like those books. There were many twist in this book I did not see coming.I also love how it takes place in Alaska, I spent over a week there before, (In July, when it stays daylight most of the time) and I have friends there, who I have learned a lot on the darkness a [...]

    15. Being a big fan of all things fangy (or is it fangie or fangishwhatever) I jumped at the chance to get my hands on Transfusion: Aurora Sky Vampire Hunter. Girl nearly dies, girl gets saved by Government Agents, girl turns into lethal vampire killing machine, girl falls in love with blood sucking hottie. What's not to jump at there? It's like a Buffy and Alias mash up. Yes, please!!We meet Aurora in the midst of her ho-hum senior year where she has big dreams of moving away from Freezer Burn, USA [...]

    16. Originally posted on yareads, reviewed by Nichole.Aurora Sky started out really strong. It’s about a girl who gets into a fatal car crash, and is revived on a military base. They renewed a lot of her important organs, but there was a catch. They also implanted a virus in her body. Now Aurora must get mandatory shots in order to stay alive. They put this virus in Aurora’s body so that her blood will be fatal to any vampire who bites her and sucks her blood. But Aurora doesn’t want this life [...]

    17. What I liked: The origin or the vampires and how they came about was different from what I had expected. Honestly, I hadn't even expected any form of an explanation about where vampires came from so that was an interesting tidbit to have. The story was well paced, and while I had a few hangups about the overall plot of the story it was interesting and I really enjoyed it. Aurora was a good character to follow, although I didn't always understand her actions in the book. I feel like she didn't sh [...]

    19. Nikki Jefford just become on of my new favorite authors!! I love your writing style. Bravo on the first book success in this series. I loved it from the beginning and was hard pressed when I had to lay the book down to move about. I love Aurora and Noel as the main female characters. I don't like all them mind you hate is such a strong word that I don't use but i want you to understand I so dislike the agents and her dad."In the event of a catastrophe, one thing is sure. Your life ends on a curs [...]

    20. Reviewed for Bit'N Book PromotersI love the note under the blurb. Beware reader folk, this book has blood sucking!I read this book December 2013 and since getting into book reviewing, I managed to beg demand convince ask the author for the next books in the series. And she pulled through! So it only stands to reason that I'm anxious to do her proud for entrusting me with this entire series. And you can't say 'this series' without wanting to add 'fabulous' in the middle. They really are.I wrote t [...]

    21. Title: Aurora Sky: Vampire HunterSeries: Aurora SkyAuthor: Nikki JeffordPages: 256Source: Kindle FreebieFormat: Kindle- Um, the grammar was okay, I guess- The plot, the characters, the setting. Everything.- Didn't buy the romance. Not even a little. It was shallow and horrible. Nope.- Aurora so so whiney. If they could have picked a worse vampire hunter, it would have been a miracle. She's ungrateful that they saved her. Even if she didn't want to work for them, she should at least be thankful f [...]

    22. Freebie Spotlight: Aurora Sky by Nikki JeffordDeal or Duped: Deal I will post the full review this Friday, but I think the book will not be Free by the time the review goes live. Because this book is a mediocre novel, entertaining because of the characters, but failing within the plot and writing skills - it is a great Freebie grab, but I probably would have been much harsher in my views toward it if I would have paid full price. I really did like the character of Aurora and saw the great potent [...]

    23. This book was amazing!! I was intrigued and so thought to go for it! And I'm glad I did this cuz it was awesome! I loved the writing as it hooked me in the first chapter.I like the first chapter as it showed Aurora's normal life before it changed. Then her transforming into a bad ass! Coool!!My two fav characters are Dante and Jose love them both!! Fane is cool and I guess I forgot how many times his unsimilar lips were mentioned by Aurora lol! It was fun, dark and witty. Aurora's thinking is wi [...]

    24. Aurora Sky is among my favorite vampire hunters. This series is dark, gritty, and has just the right about of laughter peppered in for flavor.

    25. Brilliant narration by Em Eldridge. Loved her British accent and humor. Northern Bites (Aurora Sky #2) audiobook releasing the end of March 2015.

    26. I like Fane, I'm not sure I like Aurora and the plot goes off into tangents which required me to re-read chapters. Dante is eh eh. Noel is cool. I won't be continuing.

    27. Aurora Sky Vampire Hunter is a lab rat or freak whichever way you look at it. She dies in a car accident but then gets taken and kidnapped by some special air force agent Melcher, in which they create vampire hunters out of people. Their explanation is she has unique blood. Type AB negative. The book doesn't go into detail about their Frankenstein experiments only that she awakens in their lab and is alive. Anyhow, Aurora is in service to Melcher's demands from here on out which involve dangerou [...]

    28. I bought this book along with the entire series. I am a blogger @ The Paranormal Bookshelf. This review is whole heartedly from myself without any bias of the author. Category: young adult paranormal romance/paranormalParanormal genre: vampires5 out of 5 stars!Let's be honest, I've been in a book slump for almost two years as most of the people who follow my blog know. It has sucked. I just happened to be vacationing in my new home state and came across this series. I am so thankful I did. Nikki [...]

    29. celebrityreaders.wordpressThis book sucked. I’m sorry, its mean but I can’t think of any other way to say it. The romance was written terribly and was so choppy I could barely keep up with it. She liked so many people you couldn’t tell who she truly cared about or who she was using. It had sooooo much more telling than showing. It was told as matter of fact as possible and it came off as boring to me. The story line moved too fast to absorb. It felt like lazy writing to me cause the author [...]
