    1. Magical Fashionista: Dress for the Life You Want is a book that serves to educate the reader on how to dress in order to get the life they want. Using basic fashion advice in tandem with magick elements such as the Wheel of the year and astrology, Whitehurst teaches how one should build their wardrobe in order to build a better outlook and confidence. -----This book is a solid fashion guide, but at the end of the day it really just didn't teach me as much as I had hoped.A lot of this book read a [...]

    2. Awesome reference. I was going to use it to write about a character in the fashion world. This helped out a lot.

    3. I've always loved fashion but this book makes it magical and fun! I had actually, due to money problems, found myself losing some interest in fashion until I read this book. It inspired me to rethink my wardrobe in a way that upgraded me, as feeling good about yourself equals success and prosperity. My favorite aspect was our astrological signs have influence over our wardrobes and even the colors we're attracted to.I learned, you can also choose your outfits by the days of the week and whatever [...]

    4. There is some good stuff in here but a lot of it feels like fluffy filler, and there’s a lot of the same reference information you can find in most magical books these days. I did find the section on astrology and elemental energies to be particularly interesting. If you’ve never thought of fashion as magic and are just starting out, you will probably get a lot more out of this book than I did. I’ve been thinking of fashion as magic for 10 years now, so a lot of this felt redundant.

    5. It's a frothy sort of read, but fun and gave me some good ideas - and as always, I love symbolism and fashion.

    6. I love this book! It's creative, thoughtful, innovative and grounding. It's not about striving for perfection, spending a lot of money or having to focus on consumerism and shopping. It is about finding and connecting with your inner fashion muse. Dressing for the life you want is an intriguing idea to me, because it opens up myriad possibilities for the reader. How lovely to treat fashion as a creative expression that isn't just oriented toward pleasing a man or for career success. Rather, this [...]

    7. 3.5 stars. Though there was a lot I won't use, as I'm not really going to do quasi spells and all, this was an interesting read. I liked the mish-mosh of different approaches and that she doesn't just have one "you should wear this, this, and this" approach I find in so many style books. I learned quite a bit about color meanings, and such, that I'm using and they are helping me develop a more personal style and remember that a lot of style is about attitude, and Whitehurst's is a positive, affi [...]

    8. Amazing book. Finally some mysteries decoded. The author is well read on the subject and blends in many schools of thought beautifully into an amalgam of advice. She has very good understanding of certain symbols and ways of things and just put it so plainly like its magic. Thank you so much for your generosity and open hearted sharing. Great references as well, a lot of which are in my to-read list.I'm planning on getting this for keeps next time.

    9. Interesting, magick-y stuff. I've read a lot of fashion books in my time and a few on magic. This is a creative and thoughtful and honest treatment of both. It feels personal from the author, and thought provoking for this reader.

    10. 3 Stars This is nothing like I thought it would be. It’s mysticism and finding the true you. A new-age type of self-help, but reachable to the more modern fashionista.

    11. I will go back to this when I've got more energy, I'm sure. I was in a fashion & self-improvement mood when I bought it, but that dissipated before I really started it. Maybe later.
