    1. Nice resourceThis book is loaded with great resources. I found the pictures particularly helpful, especially in regards to fruit and florals. I am a visual learner and that helped me with perspective. There are also several instructional pictures for those who paint landscapes. I don't right now, but am open to trying them someday. I am sure this will be a book I refer to often.

    5. Not for kindleUseful theory on beginning watercolor painting, but very difficult to read the writing next to a sampleuld not expand, needed a magnifying glass to see the small print.

Although the subjects are mostly limited to landscape, these core skills will help me in my own work past landscapes.Cathy Johnson has published several fantastic illustrated journal books, all of which are worth finding.     7. I picked up the book because I was drawn to the style of the paintings in the book and then realized it's by one of my favorite watercolorists. Cathy makes the whole experience fun and interesting and includes detailed instructions for each technique making it easy for even a newbie to get started.     8. Watercolor paintings are less mysterious now, but no less beautiful.If I were artistic, I am sure I could learn to paint watercolors by reading this book. I enjoyed the step by step building of paintings- lovely book.

    9. Virgin PainterEasy simple start that helps to calm you fears about placing paint to paper. Fun exercises that help you test your paint, brushes and imagination. Great book.

    10. Looks very basic and very simple. I'll probably do the exercises every now and then to keep myself watercolor-oiled. Maybe this will be a good supplement to her nifty youtube videos.

    11. Fabulous read but I wish I hadn't gotten the Kindle version! it would have been a better instructional manual in book form. Sigh.
