    2. I'm not even sure why I started reading this. I watched the show with my family as a young person, and it definitely left an impression on me, but I fucking hate war stories (from real wars). They remind me of why I read to escape. So why I picked this up is a combination of "my housemate left it in the bathroom" and "sure, why the fuck not. I don't even have to finish it." I can't even be mad at the rampant references to 'broads' and 'chicks' and 'nigras', and the rampant disregard for anything [...]

    4. I'm a big fan of the TV series, so it's quite odd reading the original and seeing how different it is. Frank Burns and Margaret Houlihan (not actually the chief nurse) are minor characters, Hawkeye is blond, but has bad posture (so they got that right!) and Trapper John, who is rather posh, is chief surgeon. They share a tent with a Southerner named Duke, who is a bit racist. And they get to go home after 6 months!Yes, this is episodic without an overall plot, but I don't mind that - it is a ser [...]

    5. Being a big fan of the movie and TV series based on this book, I really wanted to enjoy this book. I really did. Unfortunately, I couldn't. It read like a bad newspaper article. This Happened, then this happened, and then the next thing. There was no over all plot line to hold the whole thing together, other than the Doctors did a good job patching up the wounded, and wanting to go home. There was really nothing to hold the thing together. I hoped this would lead into loving the other novels in [...]

    6. Being a huge fan of the movie and television show, I finally broke down and read the book a few years ago. I was disappointed but definitely over the years it has lost something compared to the huge franchise that it grew into.I tried to read book to MASH goes to main, but quickly got tired so I cast it aside.

    7. audible/pd/Bios-MemoirIt is a good listen, even if took me a few days to listen to it. I don't have a Kindle outside of my Computer. But this was just like another The Great Escape, read it after saw the movie.

    9. A story so horrifyingly accurate and cynical that it holds true in today's society, 50 years later.
