    1. There is so much hype about this author, but I think she deserves all of it. These books are bonkers, but in a good way - and they are both books about women, which feel as if they have been written for women.

    3. I hated The Wallcreeper in a proportion equal to my love of Mislaid. It is for Mislaid alone that I give the books five stars. It's so understatedly funny and moves so quickly. I finished it feeling really happy about the complexities and infinite possibilities of the world. The narrator in The Wallcreeper felt distant; even parts of the story felt hard to hold on to.
