    1. Mysterious Hannah moves to Hooks Harbor and the fun begins. This was a fun quick read for me. This is the first book in the series so there is a lot of background information given. I enjoyed meeting the characters. They are a very interesting mix but work well together. The end seemed a little rushed to me but the mystery of who did it was done well. Looking forward to the book

    2. I loved this There was so many suspects and reasons it was hard to guess who the killer was at least for me. I didn't even suspect the shooter until it was reviled which isn't like me normally I switch between a few but this time they was even on my radar as a real suspect. Looking forward to reading the next one.

    3. Definitely Good Book This is a really good book with just enough twists and turns to make it interesting. Don't know if there's going to be a romance in the making yet but I sure like the old codger, Jack.

    4. Nice!Well written, nice cozy read. I was captivated from beginning til the end! Lyndsey Cole did an excellent job with Gunpowder Chowder! I just can't wait to read more about Cal, Hannah, Jack and all of the rest of the characters. Kudos Ms. Cole.LOVED. IT!!!

    5. Light and AmusingAn easy, quick read when you want a break from more serious or emotionally wrenching fare. There a a few editing errors that are distracting (a "you're" instead of "your" was particularly glaring) but all in all a good book for a breezy read.

    6. CuteA cute cozy mystery! I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. I can’t wait to read more books by this author.

    7. Cute storyWonder what will be next for Miss Hannah and her new friends.Such a small town couldn't handle too many murders.

Jack and Cal are great friends, and the puppy Nellie steals your heart right away. The real fun begins when Hannah’s sister Ruby and niece Olivia show up for a visit, and Ruby decides to try to get a job as a TV news reporter’s person [...]

    16. This is the first book in Cole's Hooked & Cooked Cozy Mystery Series set in Hooks Harbor, Maine. Honestly, I'm torn. On the one hand, I find Hannah Holiday -- the series' protagonist -- likeable and I'm interested in seeing how she adapts to becoming the proprietor of her deceased aunt's beachside cafe and bungalows. On the other, it was hard for me to keep reading once Hannah's sister made an appearance. I'd hoped that the sister would go back to where she came from but no, it would appear [...]

    17. Gunpowder Chowder great startA cast of fun, likeable characters with Nellie to boot. Anxious to see what this author has up her sleeves next.

    20. Hannah just inherited her great aunt's business in Hooks Harbor, Maine, where she operates a series of cottages and a cafe along the water. Being new in town, Hannah isn't sure who to trust, and it seems so many people had plans to buy her aunt out. But who's telling the truth and who's trying to pull a fast one? When Hannah finds a body in one of the cottages, she becomes a suspect, especially when the policewoman's son is another likely suspect. On the side, Hannah's sister moves to town after [...]

    21. I Really Enjoyed It!This is a brand new series for Lyndsey Cole. Hannah Holiday comes to Hooks Harbor, Maine when she inherits her Great Aunt Caroline's cafe & cottages. No sooner does she arrive then a dead body shows up in cabin #4. Now it is up to curmudgeonly neighbor Jack & Hannah, with a little help from her sister Ruby & her carpenter Cal to find the murderer. I enjoy Lyndsey Cole's other 2 series & am just as pleased with this new endeavor. Can't wait for more books in th [...]

    22. Fun Mystery I gave this book a 5 star rating because of the quality of different characters, great location and kept me guessing. I was able to keep all the characters straight, no backpedaling to remember who was who. The storyline was fun, watching Hannah get a surprise inheritance, with a bit of drama to inherit also! I recommend this to all lovers of cozy mysteries to unwind from the day with.

    23. Hannah's Aunt Caroline died and left her business and beach cottages to Hannah. The cottages and the business both need work, within one night someone is killed in one of the cottages. Two men had come to see Hannah about buying the property claiming Caroline had offered to sell it to one of them . Now one of them is dead! Who killed him and why? Should Hannah stay and try to make a go of it or should she sell out and leave?

    24. A great "easy" read. I loved it for what it is - an uncomplicated, easy read, cozy little mystery book. I thought the plot was interesting enough to keep my coming back for a few chapters each day. Would definitely put it on the "rainy day bookshelf" I think this would be a great first mystery for an older teen - kind of like a step up from Nancy Drew. Looking forward to the rest of the series and just may check out Lyndsey Coles other series.

    25. Quick cute mysteryHannah inherits her great aunts cottages and beach snack shop. Unfortunately it seems several people had been harassing her aunt to sell for years. One of the buyers is found shot the day after she came to town. With everyone seeming to be a suspect Hannah doesn't know who to trust.

    26. This is the first in a new series by Lyndsey Cole and I absolutely loved it! The story was fun, quick read with enjoyable characters. There are plenty of suspects to keep you guessing and few surprises along the way. I look forward toreading more in this series!
