    2. If you are looking for an epic saga, you’ve found one in Wicked North. The research and history that went into this story is enough to make any lover of the Civil War era want to dig into this carefully crafted story of love, loss, and happy endings during the most brutal time in American history.Add to this the story of Jack and Emma (and her wicked sister Caroline), and the struggles they went through to find love everlasting will draw a tear or two at times. But like a good romance novel, t [...]

    3. Generally, I am not a fan of romance. I read historical fiction but romance is not something I touch let alone like. So, I started reading this book thinking it's a plain historical fiction. As the story progressed, I realised that it is a romance. But by that time I sas completely engulfed by the adventure and the the protagonist's character dillemmas. I could not put it down against my better judgement, I kept reading. The writing style is engulfing and the plot forced me to keep reading on. I [...]

    4. Romance with adventureLots of war and battle stories. Grips you page by page. Wish there were some changes to the story, but I guess it's what makes this story more fascinating

    5. My MusingsGreat historical romance with excellent historical detail. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. I do think the ending is a bit rushed. Happy ☺reading 📚!

    6. I loved this story. Jack and Emma are real people struggling with choices that not always are theirs to make. A diabolical sister. A senile father. A wounded husband. And above all, the war.War permeates the whole book, its hand pushing or pulling Jack and Emma in places where they couldn’t be together. War reverberate in every Gina Danna’s word. Her style is essential, allowing you to feel-more that being told by long descriptions-the pain of it, the violence. Jack’s cold, almost indiffer [...]

    7. The Wicked North is set during the Civil War and describes the heart wrenching lives the families of both the North and the South endured during this terrible time period in our history. The story of Southern-born West Point officer who wears the Union blue and who fights his own demons. He has abandoned the woman he loves to fight for the Union. Emma Silvers is all that is Southern born and breed. She has the guts and willpower to protect her home from the hated Yankee aggressors. Especially wh [...]

    8. I really enjoyed this story although I did think the beginning was a little slow and it took me a while to really get into the story. But once the story got going, I didn't want to put it down. I don't read many stories that take place during the Civil War, so I enjoyed this change of pace. I really enjoyed watching Jack and Emma's relationship grow through all the crazy things that tested their relationship. Between all the ups and downs from the continuation of the war and from the family dram [...]

    9. Military history buffs rejoice! This romantic historical of war-torn love will set hearts aflutter with love as well as hate, as the characters battle their emotions as well as their enemies.Read full review in the 2016 November issue of InD'tale Magazine.

    10. did you like "gone with the wind"? then don't read this. it is a cheap, tawdry rip-off of a wonderful story set in the midst of the civil war. the characters are so shallow they don't cast shadows. the plot is disguised plagiarism and the writing is only so-so. there are many novels based around the civil war that are far superior to this.
