    1. A read-aloud even my 11-year-old made sure she was in the room for. It alternates stories with poems - great for language comprehension if you want to ask a few questions about the purpose/main idea of the poem, etc. Some of the stories are kind of creepy, like real fairy stories should be. They also seemed to make an effort to include stories from cultures outside of Europe (like Africa and the Middle East) though classics from Great Britain still dominate. Overall, enchanting.

    2. I really loved all of the stories and the poems. This book really change my expectations of fairies but in a good way. These stories enlighten on how fairies were portrayed in various cultures and folk tales.

    3. This is a wonderful collection of Fairy-tale stories and poems from all over the world. The artwork is whimsical and folksy. Well done. Better for older kids (7-10).
