She is finding it difficult to fit in and her mum works long hours – leaving her to herself until dinner most days.It’s only when she makes friends with Kahu that their classmates stop teasing her and she feels less alone.Kahu teaches her to ride horses and when he takes her on a camping trip she falls in love with the Kaimanawa horses roaming free on the Tongariro Plains.     2. I read this when I was younger and really enjoyed it! I've read it more then once and even though it's a childrens book I could probably read it again. The fact that it is a novel to do with horses, has made it one of my favourites from my younger teen years.

    3. An amazing book about the annual horse cull in Kaimanawa Ranges. So far, one of my favourite books. I would definately recommend this book to anyone who is into horses or even New Zealand made novels.
